The 2016 edition of the ISM has been out of a solid month now and I have managed to transcribe the entire document in record time thanks to ASD releasing a PDF and an XML version of the document.
Since I published the new edition to my website over here I also needed to give the comparison tool a massive overhaul.
What's New?
- Dropboxes allow you to select all avaliable releases of the ISM for the 'current' compared to the 'previous' edition
- Summary boxes moved to the top of the table, giving a breakdown of Total, New, Updated, Unchanged, Deleted, and the total processed controls.
- Cleaner table html and css for a much cleaner view, much better for copy/paste into word or whatever you need
- Migrated to the ISMv3 Engine; parses the source-files much quicker with less overhead than ISMv2.
What's coming?
So the main site-engine is getting an overhaul, and I'm hoping to have all the comparison performed on the browser-side; which I hope will enable me to display not only the controls, but the topics. My hope is to have a diff-view rendered in the browser for granular indication on what text was changed between versions.
